Description

The Legion Academy returned in the post-Zero Hour Legion's timeline with new members and old members alike, and I asked Joel Carroll to draw a group of them here. Just like with the original Legion Academy, most of the students were never named, and I wish that we had gotten to know them all better. I did like that old characters such as Infectious Lass, Kent Shakespeare, and Nightwind returned as Academy students, as I always liked those characters. I also dug the fact that they had student uniforms to give them all a matching look. I'm guessing they would only get individual costumes upon graduating from the Academy. Babbage was probably my favorite of the new characters, as I thought that he had a lot of potential and he was just a cool-looking robot. I doubt that we'll ever see this particular version of the Legion Academy again, but who knows, crazier things have happened.

This squad of Legion Academy students consists of Kent Shakespeare, Infectious Lass, Babbage, some reptilian alien with super-speed powers in an environmental suit, and Nightwind. This was another piece where I let Joel choose some of the characters to include. Joel is exceptionally good at drawing robots, so of course he drew a fantastic Babbage. I love how he drew those knee joints and hands in particular. I also really dig Nightwind's hair and how Joel made the reptilian speedster look all mysterious. Thanks to Joel for yet another great Legion commission!

Travis I actually came up with name for the unnamed students and ran them by Chris Batista. The one in the hazmat like suit apparently has super speed according to Chris, so I called him Mach One.

I did ask Chris about the reptile speedster, but he couldn't remember a name. I should have known you'd have one! :)
