Description

The Legion of Super-Heroes has had its share of oddballs. Certain characters became Legion reservists, honorary Legionnaires, and members by retroactive alternate continuity flashbacks. Yeah. Anywho, I love a lot of these guys, with the exception of the jerkface Atmos and his missing armpits. Fortress Lad actually permanently transformed into the Legion's headquarters, which is a weird thing, but I really like the story that introduced him. Reflecto was first shown as a memorial statue in an "Adult Legion" story, and later went through a few convoluted story loops before actually appearing in flashbacks during the "Five Years Later" era. Pete Ross received an honorary membership thanks to his loyal friendship with Clark Kent and his ability to keep a secret. And finally, Calamity King was a Legion reject who later gained actual membership thanks to more retroactive continuity in the "Five Years Later" era.

From left to right, here we have Reflecto, Calamity King, Fortress Lad, Atmos, and Pete Ross. Joel always does a fantastic job with all of these superhero costumes, but here he shows that he is also a master of drawing regular clothes with Pete Ross. Just look at those pants! And I LOVE that he has the rock outcropping Calamity King is on starting to crumble and crack apart. That's a great touch! As usual, every character looks cool and the terrain they're on is well designed. Thanks again, Joel!
