Description

This fantastic recreation by Dick Sprang is something I've had stashed away in the dark ever since I bought it way back in the early 1990s. It is a recreation of the splash page from Batman #81, Fe. 1954. On the rare occassions when I get to look at it, this recreation always impresses me more than I expect it to. It is wildly gorgeous. Yesterday when I pulled it from behind a stack of frames I had my camera out and took a few shots of the art.

Wow, this is just stunning Richard, so thanks for sharing. Sprang's recreations are in a class by themselves as far as I'm concerned and this is one of the nicest I've seen. What beautiful detail!

I can't believe I'm going to say this (because I get the same rap from people all the time about my framed stuff) but, WHAT DO YOU MEAN STASHED AWAY????? This beauty should be proudly displayed. And I agree with Will about the colors. Must be even more impressive in person.

Really nice. And such even colors. I wonder if it's done in gouache or Dr. Martin's dyes instead of watercolor? Either way, this is really something, Richard.
