DescriptionJack Kirby's pure pencils on this double size Devil Dinosaur piece. Incredible tight pencils, this drawing which is the size of two modern pages put together is much better than the published cover to Devil Dinosaur #1.Social/Sharing |

Thanks for the comment.Glass or no glass, it will take a lot more than that to keep Jack's dynamic energy from coming through. And while I'm at it, let me just add another WOW to chorus. Nothing better than pure, untouched, Kirby pencils. Congratulations!

I'm jealous. And I say that as a guy who has a not-bad Devil Dinosaur piece. Any idea what this was used for? I've long wondered if Jack had a couple of presentation pieces that predated his return to Marvel, as this one looks (like mine) not done for a normal comic book format. This is exceptionally nice -- I'm very glad you shared it. Also: WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW.

When I got it from Michael Thibodeaux (thanks again Michael!) he told me that it had been on his living room wall for 15 years (after he got it directly from Jack). I feel blessed and honored to have this piece. It is my Kirby grail.

suh-WEET!! Odd that Mike didn't know what it is. If not a presentation piece (seems like it would have been inked if it was) maybe it was meant for a gift that was never given? Interesting "frame" around his name. Either way WOW x infinity!

He even offered to give me that person's information in case I wanted to follow up. My reply was that 'if I let it go then I wouldn't have it.' Thank you for sharing the comment. This lovely is in a place of honor.

It looks wonderful! What I wouldn't give to have just 1 Kirby page! Congrats.

Absolutely stunning! Why Mike wouldn't have it on his wall any longer is a mystery to me.

Mike has asked (quite generously) to re-acquire it (stating that it is the only one (of many) that he has sold to me over the years that he has some regret. I just can't do it as of now.

A fantastic Kirby piece in general, and easily the best Devil Dinosaur I can remember.
