DescriptionAn incredibly badass piece of Wolverine and his fellow X-Men by Whilce Portacio and Scott Williams.Contains the leaders of all the main X-Men books, as they were dressed at that moment in time - Cable in X-Force #1, Cyclops from X-Men #1, Storm from Uncanny X-Men #281, and Havok from X-Factor #71. Wolverine is dressed in his solo outfit. One of Whilce's rare Wolverine or Cable pieces, about as '90s as you can get! A print of this was given out with a 'Wild Agents of Marvel' subscription in the early 90s. It also appeared in Marvel Age #97. It's drawn on 11x17 paper but the art itself is only 8 1/2" x 11". Whilce was one of the best in the nineties. With so many artists that came out in that decade, Whilce supeceded most all of them. Some may call this sacrilege, but for me, he was better than Jim Lee. This is a gorgeous example of Portacio's finest times.

This is a great piece of Whilce art. Not sure why his recent work hasn't been this good. It could also be because of the incomparable Scott Williams. Who knows.

Williams inks over Portacio pencils are a rare and wonderful treat. I wish we could have seen more of this creative team over the years, as it's a polished and perfect symphony of everything I loved growing up.
