DescriptionMatania was never one to shy away from drawing and painting strong women, particularly those of ancient times. This is one of the largest single figure pieces(at about 11" tall) that I've seen by him. Her striking portrait was chosen for use as the cover for The Fortunino Matania Portfolio published by Book Palace. The full image was used as an interior plate. See additional pic.Social/Sharing |

Biblically celebrated from the book of Joshua, Rahab's finest hour of faith is shown as she hides the spies under bundles of flax. Her look of a harlot makes for a stunning subject. Matania illustrated this with the passion and zeal to inspire faith in deeds.
