Description

This was the first time Shang Chi dons his new current costume. Really enjoyed Dike’s work in this series and also appreciated Jim Cheung’s new Shang Chi costume design. I know a lot of people prefer the 70’s original Costume. But the new design actually has more Chinese elements to it; from the collar, the lapel going across the chest and Hanfu sash were all true to traditional Chinese clothing. The 70’s costume design was based on karate gi, which is of Japanese origin.

Great shot here of Shang-Chi suiting up for the first time in his new duds! I do like the look as well. Definitely a cool new take, and as you say, a more authentic one. Ruan killed it on this page and the series in general - looking forward to seeing what he's got coming next for the character. Congrats!
