DescriptionTerry had the same idea as David Petersen after Emerald City Comic Con was postponed and announced Abstract Studio Con. For his con he sold all of the convention sketches he had drawn for the show on his website as well as did some live sketching every day the convention would have been. On Thursday he listed the convention sketches at 11 EST. I was ready for them but the internet on my phone was acting up so unfortunately I missed the sketch I wanted which was a beautiful art nouveau type drawing of his characters Katchoo and Francine in a wonderful intimate window setting. I knew it would sell quick and I was very disappointed I missed it since those type of pieces only get sold at conventions that I never go to. Well I commented on Terry’s Instagram post where he had announced they had been listed with my disappointment and he said he would draw another Katchoo and Francine to post the next day.I was lucky enough to be able to snag this lovely piece even if it wasn’t the art nouveau style I had been hoping for. Like I said Terry’s sketches of Katchoo and Francine always sell so I’m absolutely thrilled to have this beautiful piece in my collection. Katchoo’s expression is so perfect as she looks lovingly at the love of her life. Terry captures such beautiful expressions in his work which really brings his characters to life. Just a wonderful portrait of these two by their amazing creator that I’m thrilled to have in my collection. Size 9x12 Published on page 83 of Terry’s book After Dark. Social/Sharing |

Very nice sketch. You can see how Terry has matured as an artist in this compared to his work back then but it hasn't lost any of its charm. Nice pick up.

Thanks, Jeff. Exactly. It's always intersting to see how an artist's work changes over the years as they learn new techniques and as you said mature. I'm definitely very happy to have this piece. I has been wanting a piece with Katchoo and Francine for a long while but just never had the chance to get one.
