DescriptionIt's been "only" 10 years since I first met Frank Quitely or as I kindly get to call him, Vin! 😉He has been my favourite artist for a long time now and to think about we met at least 8 times over these last 10 years is insane. What's even more insane is the amount of times I didn't there asking for a sketch from him, since I actually consider him a friend and in a way, mentor as well for my own comics. He is such a lovely bloke he actually sits down and reads my comics and watches the shortfilm I was involved with. And he likes them! 🙂 So imagine my happiness and gratefulness when after 10 years I finally built up the courage and asked if he could draw Pirate (3) from WE3 on the last page of my Moleskine artbook. He said yes and a few hours later (no kidding!) he told me "you shouldn't show this to anyone at this con, keep it to yourself" and he opened my book. 😃 Well, I will forever be grateful for AthensCon organizers to let me hang around the invited guests including Vin for 5 (!) days, it really made my whole year and honestly it's been some of the best 5 days in my entire lifetime! 😉 Now please invite Grant Morrison next........ 😃 Social/Sharing |

It has that lovely delicate light pencil that the series had. We3 is not a typical request, but that's what makes it unique and personal. Great to hear old school sketchbooks get completed as they take a lot of hustle and more often than not, a fair amount of money.

I'm such a big fan of that book and also of bunnies, especially this cutie. And Vin knows that, I plan on doing a new kids comic with a bunny as a character too. ;)
As for sketchbooks, I am a big fan, this is my 3rd completed A4 Moleskine Watercolour book and I have recently started a 4th one. :D
Thanks for your comment, Marcus! ;)
