Description

The Rocketeer's Betty -- a piece purchased from Albert Moy in 2002. Albert had received it from Tom Neal not long before.

John Koukoutsakis told me in 2019, "Years ago I had several copies of the french Rocketeer hardcover. I asked Dave to sign them, they would be easier to sell. After a couple of weeks he handed me the stack of 4 or 5 copies and didn't say a thing. About 6 months later I was getting ready for San Diego Comic con and looked inside. Dave had done this beautiful piece in one, a Rocketeer wash in another and a couple of profiles of Betty. I kept this piece for myself and sold the others at the show. I gave Dave an earful when I discovered the art. He said "It took you long enough to find it" and laughed his ass off. Years later I later sold the book to Tom Neal and that was it. I am glad it is in a serious collectors' hands. It is a gorgeous piece. Enjoy!"
