Description

This is the upper half page from the unpublished page 16 from the Uncle Scrooge # 08 story: "The Mysterious Unfinished Invention" from 1954.
The dialogue in the art matches the one at the end of the published 15th page. ( In the art the number 16 is also written. )
Barks himself edited this 32-page story down to 28 pages. Normally, he did these cuts already before inking but in this case there exists one and half page of the cut-off story.
Barks kept the art until he sold them to collectors.
Barks has commented the following way : "I think the reason there was some cutting on that was that I had decided I had gotten a little repetitious with my stuff. ...I don`t think it was planned to be a longer story, it was just that I got to looking at it and decided I could put in stronger business. Substitutions rather than cuts."
Well known Carl Barks expert Kim Weston wrote in an article : "I feel reasonably sure that up to three more full pages from this story exist or did exist and were probably given away to fans by Barks many years ago"..

Well - We are some collectors who are extremely happy that Barks once in a while made these rare cuttings. Otherwise this artwork would have been destroyed as the rest of the story from US-08..!
Thanks to very good friends in the collector society I was able to get this one.
A very small part of Carl Barks original artwork from the 1950`ies have survived.
Please enjoy this "one of a kind" treasure..!
