Description

Figured Christmas would be an appropriate time to share this. This is one of my favorite Goon covers even though it was never released. It was planned to be apart of a Krampus centric issue and was even solicited for a while back in 2012. However it was replaced by the ending of the Dark Horse run. I would to see what this story would have been and hopefully Eric releases this story one day at Albatross. The cover itself has the timeless quality of Eric's early Goon Christmas covers and I love the little kid versions of Goon and Franky

Eric’s explanation for the books cancellation: “After seeing The Devil in Design, a book of vintage Krampus postcards, in 2004, I thought, "I have to do a Goon Christmas comic about this!" I could never get my schedule lined up to release another Christmas issue until after the Krampus thing had hit overkill status. Scrapped the idea because of it. So here's the cover to the Goon Krampus book I canceled. I guess the lesson is, if you got a good idea, get off your ass and do it.”

Awesome Holiday fun! I always enjoy old school Krampus images. Kid Goon and Franky, have their work cut out for them.

I don't think they're the young Goon and Franky-- more like the super-deformed versions-- but regardless, great cover. I know you've been after one for a while...congrats on getting this!
