Description

Troy Little is probably best known for his recent work on IDW comic that revived The Powerpuff Girls, as well as other adaptations of various modern cartoons, but he started off in the comics industry as a writer/artist of his own characters and stories. I first became aware of him through Chiaroscuro, which he self-published through his own Meanwhile Studios banner. The first time I met him was at a convention in Toronto in 2002 (which is odd, because he lives in my hometown), where he did this amazingly detailed sketch of his coffee-addicted mascot.

I love the macabre comedy of this image, and not just because it's in keeping with my theme. It's simple in composition, made up of basic shapes and angles, but it's also incredibly expressive and elicits a quick reaction.
