Description

The most unusual thing is that Kid Flash thought riding a motorcycle would be faster than running.

Cool fog effect in the top panel. Nick told me he could accomplish that by flattening his round brush so it would have spike points instead of just one. Kind of like a brush that looks like a fork. Then he would drag the brush so it would make parallel strokes. Some dry brush technique in the 3rd panel.

The last panel is interesting because Nick used very thick lines to denote the foreground and thinner lines to denote the background. This is a visual "language" that Nick used regularly. The point of view (below the table) is also interesting. You can see Kid Flash but you know the bad guys can't see him. In 2 dimensions on the page, the table separates KF and the bad guys.

Kid Flash was created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino.

Mad Mod was created by Bob Haney and Nick Cardy.

I was in a Nick Cardy mood today and so I'm glad to see you finally got around to posting this one. And sure, it might not be the greatest page Nick ever drew, but it has Mad Mod on it and Mad Mod makes me smile (and Lord knows, we could all use a smile today). As for the motorcycle, well, motorcycles are cool and Bob Haney never let logic get in the way of a cool image. Besides, no matter what he wrote, he knew Nick would make it look good.
