Description

If you squint at this page you can imagine one of my dream scenarios: Davis keeps working at Marvel and takes over Spiderman after Ditko leaves. Ultimately this results in Todd MacFarlane never coming into existence. Many thanks to Rob Stolzer for letting this go.

I'm not used to seeing Davis do action pages (he comports himself well here) and if I were only looking at the hero's face (or the villain's mask for that matter), I would have copped onto the fact that the art was by Mr. Davis very slowly. The legs and the shoes, however, are a dead giveaway.

Great page, and I love your SPIDER-MAN dream.... While I'd never made the connection before, this Davis page reminds me a lot of the tragically under-recognized Paul Grist for some reason . . . .
