DescriptionThis page was done by John Byrne at the end on 1979. Other Byrne works coming out during that days - I will make just an example: the Death of Phoneix saga. Since I cannot afford presently (and probably, never will in the future) an X-Men/Byrne/Austin page, I give to this small nice piece the burden to represent in our collection one of the greatest periods of one of the greatest artists in the comic field - no to mention one of the artists that were more meaningful for the young comic reader I used to be a lifetime ago.The inks of Sinnott emphasize the smooth, graceful anatomies so typical for the young Byrne's works. Further to this, how it's possible not to appreciate a page depicting a fight scene during which the hero does all that old fashioned thinking-and-talking-with-myself? And furthermore, just like if it was a precious relic from an era when creative craftmanship covered for everything computers and software are doing today, let me praise the Nuklo design and execution: in three panels the villain has been drawn and inked - first -, and then, being him some kind of negative man, a "negative" photocopy of the figure has been pasted over the original drawing, to obtain the radiation effect. No Photoshop will ever produce anything like this! It comes to my mind that maybe I should change the classification of this piece, from "pen and ink" to "mixed media"... Social/Sharing |

Honestly, a Byrne is a Byrne. This is an excellent example of his work regardless of what series it came from. That's the great thing about this "THING" we do, there are many great pieces out there for different levels of collectors. Congratulations on a beautiful Byrne page.

Beautiful page, classic Byrne while he was in his youthful prime. Jolt'in Joe is a great inker/artist one of the greats! Beside's being a super guy himself.

A prime example of classic Byrne and wonderful addition to any collection!! I've been on the hunt for such a cool page, Byrne or Perez, from the Project Pegasus Saga, congrats!

It doesn't get any better than this - what a superb storyline! Reminds me of riding through the everglades with my grandparents on a trip down to Miami when I was 8 or 9. We stopped at every 7/11 in sight to help me complete this storyline. Good times and GREAT PAGE!

A great Byrne page by any standard. And the Joe Sinnott inks are simply spectacular. Love that fourth panel. Giant Man never looked so good. Congratulations on a beautiful page!

Make Mine Marvel (Two-in-One 55)! I love Bill Foster's internal monologue as he tries to build his confidence while also worrying about the effects of radiation. The writing really raises the tension level in this already exciting page. Thanks for sharing this excellent Byrne/Sinnott page with us!

Nice page. I was fond of the "Project Pegasus" storyline and the Byrne - Sinnott duet blew everything, they were at the top of their respective game.
