Description

As I've had no luck surfacing any of my passionately desired Colan/Everett Black Widow artwork in recent years, I've had to search elsewhere to satisfy my constant cravings. Occasional Colan/Palmer pages like this are the merry methadone of my collecting hobby. Besides blurred vision, memory loss and dry mouth, one welcome side effect of this particular page is a cool sequence featuring one of Gene the Dean's patented multiple exposure Daredevil-in-motion panels.

Sure, the Colan/Palmer DD pages ease the pain,
But the Colan/Everett Widow art stays in my brain,
And every day reminds me of the art I lack,
With a curvy redhead Russian monkey on my back.

Bill who? This page is amazing! I've never seen it before. The Widow portrait is intense, and the DD action sequences are dazzling. Big congrats on this super DD acquisition!

If it is actually possible to use the word 'love' in conjunction with an object, then I LOVE this page. If you decide you don't need it, if something else comes along to replace it in your affection, if you get the Colan/Everett Widow pages and you don't want such a lovely page to suffer for lack of affection, I will happily welcome it into my heart.

Clearly one of the most underrated periods of DD. Colan in top form. Later artists would learn and take a lot from this period.

What a better combo than Tom and Gene on Daredevil. Tom could add his delicate brush to the pulse-pounding pencils of Gene, giving them justice, as much for the beauty of still figures or for the raw energy of some leaping guy in red costume. Beautiful page, congratulations !
