Description

This page is from the very first story of series "Le Tops Stories" written by Giorgio Pezzin and illustrated by Massimo De Vita. The series consists of 12 stories published in a 3 years time span (1999-2002).

In "Topolino e la Pietra di Sbilenque", Mickey receives, as inheritance, the diaries of a relative, Sir Top de Tops (Baronet, a member of the House of Lords, financial expert, traveler, collector, a member of the British Archeology Club), where mysterious and incredible adventures are described.
The inspiration in this first story is clearly Palenque and the Maya population, Pezzin's plot is thrilling and De Vita's art is simply amazing (the artist himself considers Le Tops Stories as the apex of his work in a 50+ years career).

The page is simply stunning, featuring both Mickey (as Sir Top de Tops) and Goofy (as a Maya priest).
Please note that the first panel has been redrawn and pasted over the original.
