Description

"Le Storie della Baia", a series first published on Topolino (Mickey Mouse) magazine starting from #2380. The main characters are Moby Duck, Paper Hoog (Fethry Duck) and the voracious "guard" seagull named Trippa. Other characters include friends (Nina, Isidor, O'Connors, Lazy) and foes (Azimuth, Sagola, Wang) of the main ones. The stories take place in Duckport, a small town by the sea.

We really don't know the exact period the characters are living, but we can guess, based on the technology, it's between 16th and 17th century, the golden age for european colonialism in America and a time where pirates and corsairs stormed the seven seas.

The protagonists are always trying to solve some mystery or searching for a treasure and every time their foes, Azimuth and Sagola, try to get in their way. In the end, Moby Duck and his friends always win but most of the times they have to leave the treasures they discovered.

The series is now being collected in volumes (Definitive Collection by Panini Comics) and this is the prelim to the cover of issue 2, where you can see most of the cast. This is the original on paper that's been scanned and then finalized (inks and color) digitally.

I do love these characters and Intini's rendition of them is simply top-notch!
