Description

This is the pencil prelim for a painting inspired by the story "Donald Duck Finds Pirate Gold", first published in 1942, famous also for being Carl Barks' first duck comic work.

The story is about Donald and his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie meeting a parrot named Yellow Beak and then winding up searching for the lost treasure of Henry Morgan. Unfortunately for them, Black Pete wants the treasure too.

I absolutely love Mottura's pencil work.
This is a beautifully composed piece, with all the main characters, including the villains!!!
And the "treasure hunt" theme is really one of my all-time favorites.

Great drawing by Mottura, I can easily imagine how fantastic would look the finished painting!
