DescriptionWeb Of Spider-Man Super Special #1 was a flip book from 1995 and part of the whole Clone Saga.Three weeks ago I posted the cover to one side of the book, a cover by Joe St. Pierre featuring Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly) vs the Lizard! (See additional pic) Tonight I am posting the title splash to the flip side of the book, with cover and interiors by Steve Lightle, which features the conclusion to a story called "Planet Of The Symbiotes." I just love this title splash, where Spider-Man (Peter Parker) and Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly) are in the forest dodging what look to be tree trunks, but when you turn the page, they are the talons of a 40-foot tall Carnage!! Well, in the colored issue page, the 'tree trunks' are red (and pointy), and if you look at the cover, the whole Carnage reveal is much less surprising ... but still, a very cool image! The fact that you have this and the flip side cover makes for such a nice combo, just like Spider-Man and Scarlet Spider here. Great set of covers!

I would truly be scared if Canage ever managed to get his hands on some Greek yogurt.

Love the art here. Without the color.. it feels like the 2 spideys are caught in a storm. Love it!

WOW! Now THIS is a high level Steve Lightle piece! So beautiful, it should've been used a one of the two covers. Brilliant work, bravo!

The only cover I could love more than the Lightle cover I have is a Lightle cover with my favorite character. You lucky dog!

That's a lot of Spider-Power! What a great scene by Lightle. Not every artist can have that much detail on a page, and have the image read so well. That's certainly a big talent. And, looking closely, I never noticed how much his background look like Mike Perkins backgrounds. Just a similar way of inking and pencilling, I guess. Really nice cover. Congrats!

I like that you gotta almost do a double take to make out the large Carnage claw! Cool how Pete and Ben are evading it in terms of their poses. The figures are awesome, but equally awesome how Lightle went to TOWN on teh backgrounds! Sweet '90s goodness. Congrats!

Wonderfully enriched in every single details. A Steve Lightle in a state-of-grace where is Art reach unusual limits.
So many “famous” Artists should learn, here, how to fill in a page…
Enchanted by a Light(le) pick!
