DescriptionEarly in my art collecting career, I picked up a panel page from this FCBD issue, but I ended up selling it. I always regretted that, until I was able to pick up this beauty.In a very snowy, wintry scene that makes me shiver just looking at it, you get the Sentry on the left whipping up a maelstrom, then a nice long horizontal panel up top with the New Avengers, with their reaction to the big double page splashy tableau of the Dark Avengers descending upon them. I miss the Dark Avengers. But I'll always have this image of them, so that makes me happy. Thanks for looking! Social/Sharing |

Oh...you dog. You just pull this hits out, brother. To this day, Avengers FCBD 2009 remains one of the best books Cheung and Morales have ever done, in combo OR together! And this is a great example. The gang's all here! Well, the Dark gang :) Fun time in comics and Avengers history, no doubt. And art like this?! A big reason why. Congrats, man!

Major congrats on a stunning DPS, Paul! I remember this issue foundly with Cheung and Morales taking on all these characters in the snow. A beautiful piece.

Wow, this is a beautiful example of Cheung's art! The fine line hatching is gorgeous and is also beautifully inked by Morales. Also, no idea who he is, but I really like the Iron Cap armour design. I can do without Wolverine riding the Goblin Glider though, so lame. An absolutely spectacular piece, Paul, congrats!

GORGEOUS- work from the undeniable dream team of Cheung and Morales! (I went after this one, too, but was too late! Great pick up, Paul! :) ). Fun team shot of the New Avengers (love the concern and focus on Ms. Marvel's face here, as well as the reflection in Spdey's eye lenses) but it is, of course, the arrival of the Dark Avengers ("Avengers Lite"?) that this beauty was built for. BOOM! I love the swirling snow here, and how there's only that small "smudge" of black behind the Darksters to pop their images, yet maintain the intensity of the "whiteout"-level blizzard. The heroes may be freezing here, but your collection only gets more and more brain-meltingly awesome with each of your posts! :) Beautiful work - FANTASTIC add, Paul! Congrats!

Completely ridiculous in the best way. Pulling all those characters apart visually is a huge task which Morales handles with aplomb.
