DescriptionI remember this series very well, not just because it was another great collaboration between Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley, but because when I came home from one of my longer cruise ship contracts around the time of the series (back in my seafaring days), I had the first eight issues waiting for me at my local comic book store. Unfortunately I was almost immediately laid up in bed with some kind of stomach bug. So I amused myself (and tried to distract myself) by reading the issues one after the other. I immediately loved the art! But since I wasn't focusing too well due to being under the weather, I read them again ... and then again.In my defense, there was a lot going on in the plot as well! Anyway, those issues brought me great comfort, so when I had the chance to buy one of the covers from the run, I grabbed it. And of course I'm a sucker for cover images with the full team pictured. It's really cool also to see Mark Bagley's beautifully detailed pencils on display. Thanks for looking! Social/Sharing |

This is the movie's scene that Bagley is creating here! Bagley's pencil covers were first introduced in USM and made people take notice and appreciate his contributions as to how much detail he put into the art before handing off to an inker or colorist.

Oh yeah! Fabulous Avengers couple with my favorite Avengers members! Mark Bagley did a stunning job here of capturing the look and attitude of everybody's favorite superteam (Okay, make that MY favorite superteam). I love seeing Bagley's pencils here, it's nice to see how tight the pencils Bagley gave the inker were. Clearly, he's not phoning this one it. Love the look of Hulk here, it's nice to see a Hulk who's both brainy and powerful. The Cap drawing is really nice as well. Great work from a great artist!
