Description

The thing I love most right after comics (and my wife!) is baseball, so I had been toying with the idea of getting a baseball inspired commission at some point. I told myself I wasn�t going to get any commissions for while, unless a Sanford Greene opportunity arose, and wouldn�t you know it, he joins Felix Comic Art and opens a list! So I jumped at it, and decided to try out my baseball idea. Satchel was one of the hardest throwing pitchers of all time and Stanford�s style really brings that to life. He nailed it. There�s a million Batman commissions out there, but not too many Satchel Paiges.

A legend of the game and Greene draws him as such with the swift pitching motion that is too fast for the cameras at the time to capture. A fastball that struck terror into batters even past age 42 when he broke into MLB.
