Description

I have a bit of history with this piece! It started life as an Avon front cover or inside front cover prelim by the great Wally Wood in the 1950's. At some point Wally gave it to his friend and fellow EC artist Al Williamson. I got to know Al in the late 80's and 90's and we did several art deals, and during that time I visited him at his home on several occasions. After one of our larger deals Al gave me this Woody prelim as a thank you and I was most grateful as Wood is my favorite comic artist of all time. I had this on the wall for many years until Roger Hill made this a part of a large deal that he and I were doing and I let it go to facilitate the larger deal. Many more years went by and Roger's estate placed this in a recent Heritage Auction and I have finally brought it home to stay!

The Wally Wood sci-fi imagination that had been stewing for decades! It reflects the time period's feel of space adventure with a fantasical alien, helmet bubbles, and a damsel in distress!
