Description3rd of 3 Green Lantern (GL) postings tonight and I'm stoked to be posting this one - the splash that rings in Hal Jordan's AND Ethan Van Sciver's (EVS) return to GL!GL was the 2nd DC book I read with regularity, and a lot of it had to do with EVS's art. I started with the Sinestro Corps Special, then immediately bought the GL Rebirth trade to start catching up on what I missed. Since, I've gotten a couple of commissions and Batman pages from Ethan (check 'em out in my gallery) but hadn't, for some reason, found the right GL piece featuring Hal. I have a Red Lantern Hal commission (again, check it out!) but not that sweet published image...until now. Lots of energy here featuring Hal finishing (in emphatic fashion!) the last line of the GL oath with the energy swirling around and behind him. And, of course, a big lantern image in the background. Trademark EVS detail on display but mixed with an organic feel due to the background. Nice example of a splash I'd say - definitely evokes a "wow" factor. I haven't had luck yet picking up a piece from the original GL Rebirth storyline (collectors want to hold onto them!) but this will do for now. Wow. Just..wow. I love EVS' art (I have some too!) but this just blows any GL art away! You better frame this, pal!
