DescriptionPen & Ink6.75" x 6.5" The first piece of art I ever bought, purchased from Russ Cochran at an Orlandocon in the mid-70's. I was about 17 years old when I bought this piece, and just about passed out as I paid Russ $160 for the art. The combination of actually owning a Frazetta - even a little one - and spending the most money I ever had, did induce a bit of lightheadedness... :) I've never regretted the purchase, and to this day the little T-Rex & Pterodactyl remains one of my favorites. Welcome on Caf and congrats on this little gem! I'm not sure I'd have had the nerve to do that, when I was 17 years old...

Nice start to a collection! If that was number one I look forward to 2 and 3 and beyond. Amazing how much energy Frazetta could put into even an ink sketch.

I remember sending away for Russ's catalogues back then (I would basically afford the catalogues themselves and nothing else). I hadn't seen this one before -- it's so dynamic, and every line so suggestive. Thanks for sharing this.

This is a fantastic drawing! So much movement and I love the personality Frazetta could inject in his dinosaurs. I believe it was first published in The Frazetta Treasury back in 1975.

Welcome to the CAF community Ingrid. There are A LOT of fantastic people you are going to meet here. Topped only by the fact that your first post is a very cool Frazetta piece. A very belated congratulations on this great art and welcome again.

I've enjoyed CAF for a few years now ... such a variety of art to feast upon. Not sure why it took me so long to get my butt in gear and start posting, but I really look forward to meeting fellow collectors & sharing my collection. You're right ... there are a LOT of fantastic people here.

I used to love drawing dinosaurs and as a young man I won a 3rd place in the San Francisco news paper contest for kids back in the day. These were my favorite dinosaurs to draw. Oh yeah, this is pretty fantastic by the way !
