DescriptionVery sad to hear about the passing of Ramona Fradon. I met her at several conventions in the late 90's to early 2000's and she was always a pleasure to chat with. She was also doing great drawings well into her 90's.I bought this Aquaman pencil drawing from her at the All Time Classic Con in White Plains, New York in 2000. (For those of us lucky to have been there, that was an amazing convention where I got to speak with many comics creators, including meeting John Buscema for the first and only time.) If this looks familiar, it's probably because Ramona would draw the same scene multiple times, but I think this one is particularly beautiful with tons of great detail on the seahorse. Wow, I'm glad I clicked in for a closer look - these pencils are incredible - alternating between bold and soft very effectively. Beautiful!

She always had such a soft, delicate line. The comics world is all the poorer for Ramona's loss.

She was so cool to meet at the cons. My daughter loved chatting with her, just a nice lady. And what a talent! She was doing great work into her 90s. What a whimsical scene for Arthur. She just Got the characters she loved to draw. Great score. RIP

She totally conveys a feeling of being under water. Absolutely stunning

So great as the seahorse's body is defined by the stippling technique instead of linework. Ramona had such a great feel for the natural beauty of the underwater world.
