DescriptionHappy Happy, Joy Joy! Happy Happy, Joy Joy!Most of my hobby pals know I'm a massive Tom Grummett fan, but like many of us, I am also a lifelong comics and Looney Tunes/Bugs Bunny fan. When I heard Tom would be drawing one of the DC/Looney Tunes one-shot comic books, I knew I had to get myself an example for my collection. While I prefer the finished look of inked art over pencilled art, one of the few exceptions I make is for Tom's pencilled art, as the lines are just so clean and beautiful. Incorporating Bugs Bunny into the world of the Legion via an homage to the Legion's first appearance in Adventure Comics #247 from 1958 was a stroke of pure genius. So happy to own this one! If you're thinking to yourself, "Something about Bugs looks 'off'", you're not wrong. Tom told me that when he started on the project, he immediately realized just how much more difficult and what a different approach it was going from standard comic book style to animation style, and he said he struggled early on with getting the likeness down pat. It wasn't until I took the time to study it closely myself that I finally realized how just a couple of tiny details make a huge difference in getting the look right. In this case, I learned that the nose should've been a lot smaller, perhaps no more than a third of the size Tom drew it at. Then, another tiny detail I noticed was that the small space starting from right beneath the nose and going to just above the teeth, should be much smaller. It was a really interesting and informative bit of research that heightened my respect for the art of animation. Anyway, I'm happy to say that Tom said that he got the hang of it as the story went on and you can see the likeness get better as the story progresses. What about the 1000 other members of the LSH? Don't they get to Vote? :-)

Ruben, congrats on getting a great example of Tom's Bugs, Legion mash-up! Sooo jealous! If you ever want to sell, please let me know. I have all the inked interior pages from the Bugs, Legion book and would love to re-unite them someday!

Bugs bunny is not a team player - do my guess is it doesnt matter how they vote. But I admit haven't read the comic. Love the concept though. Great cover. Congrats!
