Description

This came via a CBG ad. The seller said that this was a commissioned sketch that he paid Barry $100 for at a 1976 convention. It took a year for him to get the finished piece from Barry. I would say that it was worth the wait. This pencil drawing is as perfect a BWS Conan drawing as anyone would wish for.

Yep, I was the one who got the piece from Barry. I was a high school sophomore at the time and didn't have the 100 bucks. Once I had the dough, I brought it to The Studio, where Michael Kaluta gave me the artwork and a tour. That was memorable. I'm glad the piece is in good hands, Richard.

Great Conan drawing. It's interesting that BWS drew Conon with a much more muscular body then usual. Was he trying his version of the John Buscema 'bodybuilder' Conan?
