Description

My all-time favorite Green Lantern storyline was Emerald Twilight and the cover of #48 is my favorite. It has always been hard for me to resist the idea that Gumby would've been a perfect Green Lantern so I asked Mel Smith (a.k.a. Chimp-9), Wildcard Ink editor of 2008 Eisner Award-winning Gumby series to draw a mash-up. What Mel started off as a convention sketch was later colored at home. I love the contrast between Gumby, an innocent childhood icon, suffering grief. Mel went above and beyond with this one.

Completed in 2014.
