Metamorpho #1 Cover Recreation (2016) Ramona Fradon

I was shocked and saddened to read about the passing of legendary artist Ramona Fradon this morning. Her stunningly dynamic cover art to Metamorpho #4 always stood out in my mind as it was advertised in the first comics I ever saw, having found a few of my brother's old comics in the basement closet in the early 1970s which triggered my love for the medium. It always brought joy to my heart knowing this legend was with us and that she maintained her artistic skill.

I was fortunate to pick up this amazing cover recreation from Scott at Catskill Comics back in 2016 when Ramona recreated it. And somewhere I have an absolutely stunning sketch of Wonder Woman that was among my earliest original art purchases when I began getting the OA collecting bug.

This is a "big art" measuring 14"x20" - so I couldn't use my scanner to get a high-resolution image and instead have posted using a scanning app and a pic of the art. I was impelled to share it today in tribute to Ramona in hopes all can appreciate and enjoy her distinctive style.

While sad to see one of the last great legends pass, may we all be so lucky to not only live to be 97, but that we are able to maintain a fraction of her creativeness and warmth in our later years.
