Azrael is back in his Az-Bats costume. Why? Well... delusions, hallucinations, and a lack of identity will do the trick.

"Azrael has a hallucination of St. Dumas telling him the truth about what he needs to do. Azrael goes to the Batcave to claim back the mantle of the bat, since the man wearing it has commited murder and is no longer worthy of the costume."

That Saint Dumas high school really did a number on him. JPV thought he was going to be the savior of the world, while the real saviors were afoot at the Circle K.

St. Dumas reminds me of the devil on my shoulder that says I should buy a piece of art even though I'm currently on pause. It is VERY difficult to let him down easy...

Wow! Wow! Wow! What a cool page with Azrael hallucinating that St. Dumas is judging him harshly for being too easy on the Batman! I love the upper right panel with the black figure of St. Dumas standing above Azrael with this flaming sword held high! St. Dumas looks so menacing here with his figure silhouetted against the flames. I'm struck by the tiny figure of Azrael cringing below him. I love the tight closeup of St. Duma's skeletal face in the fourth panel. The reversal of a white skeletan face to a black skeleton face is very effective! Fantastic pick-up, congrats!
