DescriptionPerhaps one of Toppi's best illustrations and only fitting it is a homage to the great Alex Raymond and his most famous creation. If you don't know the work of Sergio Toppi, you are missing out on one of the true geniuses of sequential art. His style is so unique that it is unmistakable and although many people borrow from him, none have been able to recreate his unique designs. I have long admired this piece in a friend's collection and when it was time for it to move on, it came to me with a lot of trust and fellowship.Social/Sharing |

Oh, is this really a Flash and Dale homage? I looked at it and thought, "Oh cool, he looks like some weird Flash Gordon insopired character with a hot chick in front of him.", but I thought it was some subconcious thing, not an actual homage to those characters! Really fantastic piece either way. Beautiful stuff!

It really, really is a Flash Gordon piece. Toppi always writes on the back of his art and it is clearly written Flash Gordon and some info on the portfolio it was from.
