Description(December 1941) (DC Comics) While George Papp is best remembered for his Silver-Age DC Comics work on Superboy, the Legion of Superheroes, and Green Arrow, he is also a significant artist being that he Co-Created Bizarro, General Zod, and the Phantom Zone into the Superman mythos. George Papp was an extremely gifted artist straight-out-of-the-gate during his earliest work for DC Comics’ Golden-Age and this “More Fun Comics #74” page 4 artwork (DEcember 1941) is clear proof of this. Only the “2nd Earliest Example” of Green Arrow artwork next to the Green Arrow "approved final concept” illustration by Co-Creator, George Papp (1941) sharing this very same “CAF” gallery. This specific page 4 has everything in it with not a “dead panel” being present!!! Besides showing Green Arrow and/or Speedy in-action in 5 out of the 7-panels, the other 2-panels show Green Arrow’s version of The Batman’s “Batmobile” but with his vehicle of vengeance being appropriately called: “The ArrowPlane.” The reverse of the page not only shows some “finished” pencil and India ink drawings of various thugs but George Papp even rendered a graphite profile sketch of The pop Emerald Archer’s ArrowPlane. This special piece of artwork was one of those rare examples that originally slipped thru my fingers. Keif, congrats on getting this glorious page. I know how bad you wanted it. A truly significant and historic page. George Papp's layout and design here is excellent!

What an incredible piece of golden age history. The 1st and 4th panels are especially striking. Congrats!
