DescriptionFrom the pen of the great Franklin Booth. I don't have a clue what this was used for but I love the graphic of this piece. Very stamp like in it's design. And of course the original is so much nicer that any scan could convey.Social/Sharing |

Love Franklin Booth's work. One of the great illustrators, and his fine detailing is indeed hard to capture in a scan.

Wonderful piece, my guess was a stamp design; but I googled it and found it's actually a 1925 Bulova Watch advertisement from the Saturday Evening post. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/258675572321506063/

Once you start looking at it, it's easy to get lost in all the nooks, crannies and other details Booth managed include. Still, I can only imagine how much nicer it is in person.

As pure artwork goes this is exquisite no matter what the usage was for. It's utterly mesmerizing.
