Description

Gene Colan and Dave Simons' Howard the Duck Magazine #5 page 50 (Marvel Comics, 1979). Howard the Duck, Steve Gerber's semi-autobiographical cynic, survived the writer's departure from Marvel -- largely because Colan remained attached as the Duck's most consistent and sympathetic illustrator. This fine page (from the book's revival as a black-and-white, mature-readers title) finds Howard stranded in the company of three creepy children. A caricature of Frank Sinatra graces the first panel. On the reverse is a bonus: A spatter-test by inker Simons. Ink and ink wash over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 10.5" x 15". Extensive marginal notations and handling wear. Very good condition.
