DescriptionI love vampire stories, particularly the most famous one, Bram Stoker's "Dracula" novel, a story that inspired all the vampire stories that came after. The question is, could "Dracula" also inspire a Disney adaptation? I didn't think it was possible, but I'm more than happy Bruno Enna and Fabio Celoni proved me wrong. The combination of Enna's clever script and the magnificence of Celoni's artwork is amazing, a joy to read and cherish, panel by panel. "Dracula di Bram Topker" is the first chapter in the Disney gothic horror trilogy (followed by "Lo strano caso del Dottor Ratkyll e di Mister Hyde" and "Duckenstein di Mary Shelduck") by Bruno Enna and Fabio Celoni. First published in Topolino magazine #2945 and 2946 (2012) and then reprinted many times in Italy. For the latest reprint, a Superdeluxe edition (hardcover, huge format, high paper quality), Fabio Celoni created a new cover that is also his first Disney painted cover. Here it is, a true gem, pure Celoni's magic, combining watercolor and tempera techniques. In the additional images the published piece, please note that the artist did apply some changes, digitally. Please also find in my gallery other pieces related to the Gothic trilogy: - Ratkyll, The Haunted page - Duckenstein painted commission - Dracula/Jonathan Ratker convention sketch - Dracula/Phantom Blot convention sketch - Ratkyll & Hyde/Pipperson with axe convention sketch - Ratkyll & Hyde/Donald Hyde convention sketch - Duckenstein/Victor von Duckenstein & Growl convention sketch Huge thanks to Fabio!!! Fantastic piece by Celoni, both in terms of composition and technique. Every single character is beautifully depicted, but Dracula's cape and the chromatic contrast are pure genius!

it sure is... don't expect "real" blood, but it's an amazing adaptation (also, will be published very soon in english language by Dark Horse)

Oh fantastic! I just read the French cartoonists’ Trondheim and Keramidas’s Mickeys Craziest Adventure this morning... so good! And on a humorous note the “origin of the work” story had me fooled for a bit, so that was fun!
I’ll be looking forward to this English translation as well! Up until this morning I thought the really classic disney work was dead. But comics are bringing it back. I love this medium! There’s always something to discover

It is an interesting interpretation of the characters. Also, the artist's use of red is most evocative.

correct, we can definitely say that RED is the color of the Gothic Trilogy where Bruno Enna (plot and text) and Fabio Celoni (artwork) adapted three horror masterpieces (Dracula, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Frankenstein) for the Italian Disney licensee using ducks and mice :)
