DescriptionI recently had the pleasure of acquiring my first piece by Manix Abrera. His whimsical and joyful art style has captivated me ever since I discovered his work through Bill Cox’s Next Comic Art sale shows. Manix’s unique interpretations of classic Marvel covers, infused with his playful touch, never fail to bring a smile to my face. As a 3D hobbyist with a background in video editing and motion graphics, I was inspired to bring Manix’s distinctive characters to life in three dimensions. I began by modeling a character based on some of his Wolverine commissions, meticulously crafting the details to stay true to his original designs. Once the model was complete, I rigged it and used Mixamo and Cinema 4d to animate Wolverine breakdancing—a fun project that I shared on Instagram. it was really cool when Manix himself commented on and shared my animation. When the opportunity arose for commissions during the Original Art Expo (OAX), I knew exactly what I wanted: Manix’s rendition of a breakdancing Wolverine. He exceeded my expectations by incorporating additional characters and infusing the scene with his signature vibrant colors and intricate linework. The piece radiates energy and joy, perfectly capturing the essence of his art style. This experience has come full circle for me, from admiring Manix’s work, to creating a 3D animation inspired by it, and finally owning a personalized piece that melds our creative visions. I am beyond thrilled with this addition to my collection and look forward to modeling more of Manix’s creations in the future. Make Mine Manix! Social/Sharing |

Saying Manix "went all out" on something is a given. However, he really went all out on this one!
