Description

original artwork (painting) of: MILICENT PATRICK - American actress, makeup artist, special effects designer and animator. She is best known for being the creator of the head costume for the iconic Gill-Man from the movie CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON. During promotion for the film Patrick was sent on a press tour, dubbed "The Beauty Who Created the Beast".
This portrait of Miss Patrick includes headshots of her famous make-up/FX works: The Gill-Man, Mr. Hyde, The Metaluna Mutant, and It Came From Outer Space.
This artwork is rendered in Gouache on 15" x 20" Illustration Board.

I was fascinated reading about Milicent Patrick in the Mallory O'Meara book Lady from the Black Lagoon. She also went by Mildred Rossi when she created color animation for Fantasia.
