DescriptionA beautiful example from the Miracleman, issue 19 story entitled 'Notes from the Underground'. Mark Buckingham was producing such visually interesting work at this stage of his career - it was the perfect time for him to be collaborating with Neil Gaiman during his Miracleman run.As always, big thanks to Joseph Melchior of BritComicsArt.com! It really was a toss up between this and the page 21 splash for my favorite page. The detail on that page is exquisite, but ultimately it was the lighting on this splash that won me over. Although just barely. It must be such a joy and delight when you go through your collection. You have such a keen eye for aesthetic quality.

This artwork - without knowing the story or that it is comic book art could hang on any wall.
Stunning.

Warhol and Gargunza? The stories are so removed from the early issues and taken to a place of sophistication that stands on its own. Buckingham's art matches that level of quality with illustration that hadn't been seen in comics before, but will no doubt hold great influence in the years to come.
