DescriptionThe cover to Amazing Spider-Man #125 by John Romita, Sr. - a thrilling addition to my collection on numerous fronts.First, and foremost, I read this comic over and over again as a kid – to own the original cover art from it as an adult gives me a fearsome nostalgia buzz. Second, I really had thought that the opportunity to acquire a Romita Sr. ASM cover had passed me by. I’d competed for many, but had been unable to put my hands on one. Third, and on a related note, I had the pleasure to acquire this one from a friend. To have the confluence of acquiring such a personally important piece...by an artist that I thought would never be a part of my collection…via a friend? Such things happen all too infrequently in this hobby that I enjoy so much…but this one did. Many thanks, Gene. Social/Sharing |

Holy smokes this is unsurpassed. I love the Bronze Age Spidey's between 100-200 and THIS is one of the greatest covers. Bravo!

A great bronze age cover. All the fun and dynamics of a cover that really works. I like the details like the people in the building windows, things that add another layer to the whole thing. Mortellaro hid his name in the hotel sign. So much goodness going on.

My first ever Spiderman comic book was amazing #124, which I also read countless times. I later purchased the comic/record which featured this 2-parter which I also listened to countless times. I can only imagine how incredible it must feel to recapture this moment of your youth. Congrats! Thanks for sharing pics of this outstanding pick-up!

I know what you mean about that nostalgia buzz. This cover is in my sweet spot era for Spidey issues. My favorite block of ASM is the 20-30 issues right after the cover price went from 15 cents to 20 cents. So many great stories with some amazing guest stars (Ka-Zar, Dr. Strange, Hulk, Luke Cage, Punisher) and villains (Kraven, Doc Ock, Vulture, Goblin, Hammerhead, Man-Wolf, and who could forget Kangaroo). With the pinnacle of course being the death to Gwen Stacy. I was in my early teens and this block of issues pretty much cemented Spidey being my favorite character. Congratulations on this gem of a cover. I’m sure it will hold a very special place in your collection for years to come.

It's always so thrilling when someone posts something they just happily added to their collection that I once owned myself. Though you no doubt paid a lot more for it than I sold it for 7 or 8 years ago! Congrats, Chris!

What can I say except...AMAZING!! I truly believe that this is one of the best ASM covers from the era, and I'm very glad that it went to the collection of a friend who truly appreciates it. I hope it brings many a happy memory and smiles to you for a long, long time to come - enjoy!

Wow, what an awesome addition to your collection--as if Romita doing Spidey wasn't enough, you have Man-Wolf, a Romita babe, and a hot-rod as well. Great score!

Ronan, A stellar Bronze Age masterpiece! A great Romita cover featuring the 2nd cover appearance of Man-Wolf! I read this glorious comic off the newsstand back in 1973. Bronze magic, indeed!

Chris, an incredible Bronze Age masterpiece. Man-Wolf was always one of my favorite Spidey adversaries. A great cover that fits perfectly in a sterling collection like yours!

Gwennnnn, with five n's, is the sound you make when you have been smacked in the face by a Man-Wolf...Man, that Wolf has a sweet left.
