DescriptionThere's a lot I like about this page. Not only is a classic Buscema/Palmer Avengers page from the great early 70s, but it also shows Goliath (a fav of mine from the time), some moody 70's drama with the Vision questioning his "humanity" after the battle with his "brother" the Grim Reaper (and the Lethal Legion) and it's also an endpage which makes a nice bookend to my page 1 splash from the same issue. Most important though for me is that amazing middle panel. Just a great splashy panel showing 6 Avengers, with some nice dialogue. As I recall this panel was repeated in a later issue of the Avengers on the letters page (I used to love when they did that). It took a lot of time and effort to obtain it and I thank Tom and Jim for agreeing to let the page go. Social/Sharing |

You are killing me with your Buscema/Palmer pickups. I have always LOVED loved this page, and you must have been quite resourceful to have gotten it away from Jim. If it sounds like I'm jealous...you would be correct! :)

People will look at the middle panel, but it is the last one that does it for me. Great camera angle for, underlining the intense words.

Incredible Daren, yours is perhaps my favorite collection on all of CAF.

Damn, that's beautiful. It's almost the quintessential Marvel page.

Any page with vision by a buscema is a favorite of mine. Congrats!

In terms of drama and story, I agree with Carlo about the last panel. But I can gain that appreciation by just buying and/or reading the comic without having to spend thousands of dollars. If I'm spending that kind of money on ART, I'd be spending it for that middle panel. That's just prime Buscema/Palmer and blows away many contemporary covers I've seen. Congrats Daren!
