Hello fellow collectors. As with most, I transitioned from comics to comic art. Here is a sampling of my collection, which consists primarily of Iron Man and Avengers related art. While I focus on the 70s through early 90s, I do have pieces that are more recent. I've been collecting comic art since the mid to late 90s (basically panel pages and commissions) and more seriously (ie, much higher value pieces) since 2010. Nostalgia is a primary consideration and image is very important too. I also am at the stage of my collecting where most "boxes" have been already checked and I'm not acquiring everything I see in my niche areas. I am much more selective, especially as I have what I subjectively consider "great examples" of the various relevant artists/storylines. For example, I have a tied-for-my-#1 Jack Kirby Iron Man cover (IM #95) so I don't feel the need to hunt down another Kirby Iron Man cover - if one pops up in an auction, I'll make a game time decision on it. I also have amassed a ton of Iron Man and Avengers original art sketch cards from Rittenhouse and Upper Deck - many commissioned. And oh yeah, I also collect pinball machines - I really like my Stern Limited Edition Uncanny X-Men (Sentinels vs the X-Men) :) .
