Description

For me, this is the Holy Grail of all of Walt Kelly's "Deck Us All with Boston Charlie" strips. I love the depiction of all of the characters and the final panel with the entire song spelled out in gothic lettering is as good as it gets.

This one holds the distinction of being the most expensive piece of comic art I have ever purchased (thanks to Heritage Auctions and their 19 percent buyers premium), but I am very grateful that they offered this wonderful strip for auction and thankful that I was successful in my bidding!

In addition to being published in the "Deck Us All With Boston Charlie" paperback, the final panel was also used on the Pogo mug that was produced back in the 1990's.

Great Pogo daily in-and-of-itself, the connection to the mug makes it truly incredible.
