Description

An absolute masterpiece. The first version of the painting used for the book "Dagon and other Macabre Tales" published by Arkham in 1987 (this painting is dated 1978). The actual painting the publisher used sold a few years back at Heritage. I'm thankful that this version was not just painted over---a masterpiece would've been lost! Creepy, and beautiful at the same time. Bayless is amazing with his landscapes. This painting has the look and feel of the paintings from the 1800's...
