DescriptionOK, so was looking at this cover on Bechara's site for the better part of this year. It's John Byrne, it's a wraparound cover, I have great memories of the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe. I've wanted the 2 covers with Daredevil and Sub-Mariner, and would be happy with any of -the great artists that worked on them. Byrne, Hannigan or Frenz, but none have come available that I've been looking for of late. And this has Namorita, The Owl as well as Mystique, Nightcrawler, Nightmare, Mysterio, Nova, Nomad, Moon Knight and more, and finally decided to pull the trigger. And John Byrne was complemented so well by inker Joe Josef Rubinstein! Thanks to Bechara on working with me on this and sending out so quickly.Social/Sharing |

The Official Handbook conics were great! So much background information for my young brain to absorb! Nice pick up!

yeah, they had all of the info in one place. Now that we have the internet, it's pieces here and there for the most part. And they don't have covers to collect ;-)

I remember these run of OHOTMU covers so well - great example here! Loving the Nightcrawler pose. Congrats!

Nightcrawler is the best pose and gives the cover so much more fun character, so to speak.

Spectacular piece filled with GREAT renditions of so many outstanding characters... Congrats! Your collection is an amazing display of wonderful art; even in such company, this is still a very special jewel! Beautiful.

I love the Handbooks and Byrne's covers are so great. A pity he couldn't draw all 15 covers (he missed last four #12-15 because of he leaving Marvel because of the Superman's situation).
I think Byrne was very perfectionist and he wanted to include all the characters (excluding non-powered/depowered ones and teams) but curiously Odin is missing (also M.I.A. at the time)!
Also missing Nimrod (perhaps a later addittion to the contents) and missing Nuklo (perhaps considered as a depowered character as Morbius, also excluded in the cover). Then we have missing Nitro or could he be the character "between" Moon Knight's legs? And then, under Orka, we have Phastos??? So it seems that originally, this issue extended past letter O but after the cover was done, it was decided it was better to start #10 with letter P.
A tiny Phastos is included in the next cover but Paladin is curiously missing (perhaps he was going to be skipped but Stern using him in Avengers #251 "saved" him, making him a later addition).
