Description

This is a photo Tom took of the first of "The Muse" strips completed by Tom. The original is too large for me to scan at 15 3/4" x 21 3/4". It is interesting to compare the preliminary drawing to the the completed drawing to see what changes Tom made from conception to execution.

Tom had played around with this idea of an artist and a model for several years, and seems now a little more committed to fleshing them up. He said on Facebook on December 6th that "Warning this is pure fun for me!" and showed this preliminary for a page and a half of his story which is in this same gallery. A week later on December 13th he had completed the inked version shown here. I'm not sure how Tom will ever bring this to publication since it is laid out Sunday page style, and no North American publisher would print a strip with nudity in it, but he's having fun!

Nice piece by Tom. Iv'e always liked his rendering style. Reminds me of a fusion between Adams and Wrightson.

Some gorgeous artwork that displays the results of what happens when an artist has the freedom to create. We see the voluptuous model nude already, yet she is even more seductive after she puts her clothes back on with her final line.
