Description

From one of the key scenes in the movie, this storyboard depicts the moment when Beast discovers Belle looking at his magical rose. As originally scripted, the rose was to be kept inside a box, but visual development artist Kelly Asbury came up with the idea to suspend the rose in the air within a bell jar, as shown here. Signed by Kelly Asbury and dated 1990.

Thanks. I had the honor of meeting with Kelly and hand-selecting a couple pieces that I would like to purchase from him. I was very sad to hear of his passing, he was a really nice guy. I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet with him and talk about his work.
