DescriptionThis was the very first piece of comic book artwork I owned (back in 2000)I sold it the first time I 'thinned the herd' and have always regretted letting it go. Fellow CAFer David K picked up a great, recently done Ka-Zar watercolor piece (Val is now 70!) which prompted me to see if I could find my old piece. As luck would have it I was able to locate it and strike a deal today! 8" x 10" (circa late '90s/Y2K) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFKcXb2pES4 Social/Sharing |

I love this!! Congrats!!!
Thanks David! This piece graduated me from comic book collector to comic art collector. Soon after, I started selling my comic book collection to buy more art!
And your recent Mayerik Ka-Zar piece proves Val's still got it ;)

I think it's so cool you not only found this again, but that you were actually able to get it back. I always keep an eye out for any of my first pieces that I bought (and sold), but they never pop up. I think it's great to be able to mark the beginning of your collecting experience.

No wonder you wanted it back. Those are the confident, economic lines of a superb artist.
